Day 40 Captiva

Early morning.....cool morning.  Enjoyed hot coffee and pastry.  Our visit is coming to an end.  Al had a massage at 10:00 at Tween Waters Spa and I did some packing.  When he came home, I loaded some items in the car. I made him a hot dog with cheese and relish for lunch and I had tomato with chicken salad.
For the first time since we have been here, there were people next door playing  basketball and tennis on the new court and playing loud music.  Guess we are lucky they were not here during our 6 weeks stay.  Maybe we should brings ear plugs next time.
Spent some time sitting at the pool as temperature had warmed up and then a short time at the beach.  Waves had quietened down as well as the wind.  We left around 4:00 for a final drive through  Ding Darling but not much wildlife or birds to see.  Best pictures of the day were of a Yellow-crowned Night Heron, the last ones I shot as we were leaving.

We had gin & tonic with taquitos and sauce on the porch after our drive.  We had a late dinner tonight.  I prepared Shrimp a la Kitchen over Angel Hair pasta.  I used ingredients left in the fridge and pantry including shrimp, garlic, onion, tomatoes, anchovies, roasted red peppers, wine, chicken stock, cream, and  arugula to create a dish.
