Day 1 Captiva 2018

Sunday morning we slept late...until about 8am.  Al served coffee and pastries from Publix on the porch.  Called Margarethe about the TV and she sent Rene over to fix it.   Turned out the cable box was not plugged in....must have come loose when the phone was being hooked up.  So now we are set to watch the Super Bowl.   The construction on the lot next to us seems to be finished.....noisy work was going on last year on the guest house and huge house (mansion) but no one has moved in as of now.   Lot of trucks going in and out ...guess doing final touches. A regulation size tennis court has been built near the property line and we overlook it from the porch.  Extensive landscaping has been completed on the entire property.
A new marker identifies our rental property so we  had no need to hang out the red bucket on the house number marker this year.  See the Heron that marks the cottage in photo on left.  Lights up at night via solar light.

Enjoyed restful day at the cottage having lunch of sandwiches and chips with iced tea.  Sat and read by the pool for the afternoon.   Al prepared Rib Eye steak for dinner and I baked sweet potatoes and made Caesar salad  and we watched the Super Bowl.  Had some Key Lime pie for dessert.
The game between the Eagles and the Patriots ended with Eagles winning 41-33, a bit of an upset but was a good game from beginning to end.  Of course,  I fell asleep before the end.   The half time show with Justin Timberlake was again disappointing to  watch ....they should just have marching bands and fireworks.... would be more entertaining.
