Day 12 Captiva

I took an early walk at 7:30 on the beach and saw another group of Brown Pelicans....not as many as I saw on the 8th.  I found a few shells but not any great ones.  This  picture shows them flying as I approached the beach....
More pictures of pelicans in the water:

I made breakfast of hot biscuits, eggs, bacon, and grapefruit.   Al had a 2:00 appointment for a massage at Tween Waters Spa.   Later we went for a drive through Ding Darling.  The traffic was light and so were the birds.  We saw a group of White Pelicans at first pool...

and this group in trees on the other side of road....
At the pool near the observation tower we spotted several shore birds and more white pelicans with the reddish egrets in the group....

 and this blue....
and this cormorant swimming under the bridge.....

We arrived back at the cottage by 4:30 in time for drinks with chips and homemade salsa.   For dinner Grillmaster Al prepared scallops and I made a Whiskey Bacon Sauce (similar to Bonefish Grill sauce) for them.  Served with roasted potatoes with rosemary and garlic and a green salad.   Ended meal with Tiramisu and GEVALIA Caramel Macchiato.
