Day 11 Captiva

This morning, we were up early and drove to Bailey Tract for a walk and birding about 8:30.  Not as many birds as usual but weather is a bit cool and cloudy.  Did watch a green heron feeding near the bench where we sat for a while and made pictures.  Saw some sunning anhingas, grebes, coots, and herons.

Stopped at the near by restaurant, Over Easy, for brunch. Al had the lox platter with bagel, cream cheese, onion, and tomatoes. I had tomato stuffed with albacore tuna on lettuce with citrus mango vinaigrette. Great lunch and service. This is Al's fave for breakfast.
Shopped at Periwinkle Place,  25 shops in largest plaza on Sanibel.  Did not buy anything but Al was looking for new sunglasses. Next stop was Jerry's Plaza ....ran into Wanda at H2O whom we have known for many years through our shopping on the islands. She has managed several stores here on the islands. Of course, Al found a shirt that he loved...came with a free hat...a GWP.  Quick stop at Jerry's to buy snapper.
For dinner, we made pan fried snapper encrusted with panko crumbs and served with asparagus, salad, and pasta. Nothing like fresh fish for a great dinner.
